AMITE, LA : Driver killed in single-vehicle crash in Tangipahoa Parish on Tuesday, 5th November 2024

A driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning, November 5, according to Louisiana State Police.

Troopers said the crash happened around 5:40 a.m. on LA Highway 16 near Pine Meadow Road in Tangipahoa Parish, and claimed the life of Corey Denney, 61, of Kentwood.

A preliminary investigation revealed Denney was driving east on LA Highway 16 when he veered off the road to the right, causing his vehicle to overturn, according to LSP.

Denney was not restrained and was rushed to a hospital where he died, troopers said. They added that a routine toxicology sample was obtained from Denney for analysis.
