Topeka, KS : One-vehicle crash involving a large box-style truck carrying baby chickens on US-75 highway on Tuesday, 4th September 2018
One person was transported to a local hospital with injuries on Wednesday after a one-vehicle crash involving a large box-style truck carrying baby chickens on US-75 highway just north of Topeka.
The crash was reported around 11:30 a.m. on northbound US-75 just south of S.W. 62nd Street.
The truck lost control for an unknown reason and slid off the road into the grassy median, authorities said. It ended up on its passenger side, facing south.
The woman’s injuries weren’t believed to be life-threatening. She was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The truck was carrying 30 to 50 baby chickens as well as a dog in the cab of the truck. No animals were injured, Kansas Highway Patrol Lt. Bryce Whelpley said, adding their owners arrived to take possession of them.
