ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO : Motorist dies after crashing into car stopped on Interstate 170 on Thursday, 6th December 2018

A motorist was fatally injured night after hitting a car that had stopped on Interstate 170.

The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the victim as Gerald W. Prante, 86, of the St. Louis area.

At about 7 p.m. Tuesday, Prante was driving south on I-170 in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala.

A southbound pickup truck was stopped in the roadway near Frost Avenue due to a prior accident, police say. That section of I-170 is just south of Interstate 270, in Berkeley.
