Winnsboro, SC : Driver dead after a collision in Winnsboro on Saturday morning, April 9, 2016

A driver is dead after a collision in Winnsboro Saturday morning.

Lance Corporal David Jones with The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the crash happened at 10:35 a.m. Jones said the driver of a pickup truck was traveling west on Jackson Creek Road and disregarded a stop sign. That person crossed over SC-213 and was stuck on the driver's side by an oncoming pickup truck traveling North on SC-213. Jones reports, the victim who was hit, was not wearing a seat belt was ejected from the vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.

The other driver was wearing a seat belt and he was transported by EMS to a local hospital. There is no word on his condition.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
