Prescott Valley, AZ : 86-year-old woman killed in three-car crash on Tuesday, June 14, 2016

An 86-year-old woman was killed Tuesday, June 14, when the car in which she was a passenger was involved in a three-car collision at the intersection of Glassford Hill Road and Centre Court, according to PVPD Sgt. Jake Jackson.

About 3:10 p.m., a silver sedan driven by a 47-year-old Prescott Valley woman turned left in front of a black sedan headed south, Jackson said. The woman driving the black sedan, a 26-year-old Prescott Valley resident, was unable to stop and struck the silver car, which was pushed by the impact into a third, stopped car.

One person from each vehicle was taken to the hospital; the passenger in the silver car, Elizabeth Reffert of Prescott Valley, died shortly after she arrived at the hospital, Jackson said.

The other two people transported to the hospital were reported to have non-life-threatening injuries, Jackson said.

Investigators are continuing to look into the cause of the crash, but so far, they do not believe impairment was a factor.
