Fresno, CA : Visalia woman dies in crash on Highway 41 near Stratford on February, Sunday 18th 2018

A 63-year-old Visalia woman is dead and two people received major injuries in a crash on Highway 41 on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It happened just before 11:30 a.m. on Highway 41 north of Madison Avenue, near Stratford in Kings County.

The CHP reported that the victim was traveling south on 41 in a Toyota Camry when the car veered into the northbound lane for an unknown reason. The driver overcorrected causing the car to veer onto the right shoulder. The driver again overcorrected, veering back into the northbound lane and into the path of a 2009 Hyundai Elantra that hit the side of the Camry.

The driver of the Camry died at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai, Chanel Hernandez, 27, of Fresno, and passenger Bryana Moreno,28, of Sanger, both received major injuries. Hernandez was taken to Community Regional Medical Center while Moreno was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia.
