Palmyra, MO : Philadelphia teen injured in crash west of Palmyra on Tuesday night, June 28, 2016

A Philadelphia, Mo., teen was seriously injured in a Tuesday night crash west of Palmyra.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Isaac L. Swarnes, 18, was traveling east on Mo. 168, about 4 miles west of Palmyra at 11:40 p.m. when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road, hitting a driveway and several trees before overturning and striking a utility pole. The vehicle came to rest on its wheels on the north side of the road.

Swarnes was taken by Survival Flight to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

The patrol said Swarnes was wearing a seat belt.

The patrol was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff's Department and the Palmyra Fire Department.
