Lakeville, MN : One person dead and three hurt in Lakeville crash Sunday 16 October 2016
One victim is deceased and three are injured after a Sunday morning crash in Lakeville. The accident, which took place around 10:10 a.m., involved two motorcycles and one SUV according to Lakeville police.
Lakeville police reported Sunday afternoon that the accident took place on Route 18 near Tamarack Park. Upon arrival, Lakeville police and firefighters discovered one of the motorcycle operators, later identified as 77-year-old John Edwards of Hanson, dead on arrival. 74-year-old motorcycle passenger Lorraine Edwards, also of Hanson, was transported by MedFlight to Rhode Island Hospital. According to Lakeville Police Chief Frank Alvilhiera, this motorcycle was struck head on.
Operator of the other motorcycle involved in the accident, 53-year-old Andrew Edwards, of Hanson, was also transported to Rhode Island Hospital but by ambulance. The operator of the SUV, a 2007 Toyota Highlander, was 56-year-old Mary Tribou of Lakeville, who was transported to Morton Hospital.
The accident remains under investigation and is being reconstructed by the Massachusetts State Police. Middleboro Police and Fire, Freetown Police and Fire, Plymouth County Sherriff’s Department, and Massachusetts State Police assisted with the investigation, scene, and MedFlight evacuation.
