Columbus, OH : A woman died in a head-on crash along Rt. 40 in Licking County on Sunday, December, 24th 2017

A woman died Sunday in a head-on crash along Rt. 40 in Licking County, the State Highway Patrol said.

A westbound Mazda 6 crossed into the eastbound lane of Rt. 40, between Shelley Road SE and Mount Hope Road in Bowling Green Township about 4:20 p.m., and hit an oncoming Honda Odyssey, the patrol said.

Delma Ross, 73, who was a passenger in the minivan driven by Richard Ross, 76, both of Roseville, died at the scene. The Mazda, driven by Tiffany Fisher, 31, of Newark, went off the left side of the road, and struck a guard rail and a mailbox before overturning, the patrol said.

The crash remains under investigation.
