Scranton,PA : Two charged after crash in stolen Jeep on February, Thursday 15th 2018
Two people were arrested after their stolen Jeep Cherokee hit another vehicle at Capouse Avenue and Green Ridge Street as they fled from an officer Thursday, city police said.
The 17-year-old driver and his passenger, Justin Worden, 18, ran from the crash but were taken into custody, police said. The driver of the second vehicle was taken for treatment but was not seriously injured.
According to police, an officer spotted the Cherokee, which was reported stolen Wednesday from Kelly’s Collision on East Market Street, in the 900 block of Capouse about 12:45 p.m. and activated his lights. The Jeep took off, driving north.
The 17-year-old, whose identity was not released, faces reckless endangerment, receiving stolen property and other charges, police said. Worden was charged with receiving stolen property and prohibited offensive weapons.
