Columbia, MO : Two thrown from vehicle after rollover crash on I-70 on Sunday, December 25, 2016
The driver of a car that crashed along Interstate 70 near the Rocheport exit on Sunday was in good condition Monday after suffering serious injuries.
Kelly S. Garrett, 31, of Kansas City was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer east with three child passengers when it veered off the right side of the highway and overturned. Gale Blomenkamp of the Boone County Fire Protection District said witnesses reported that two of the occupants were thrown from the car.
Garrett and her three passengers — Savanah Odoms, 12, Savaghan Kelly, 11, and Sanazjia Kelly, 10 — all were taken to University Hospital, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. The crash happened at about 2 p.m.
Garrett and Sanazjia Kelly suffered serious injuries, and the other two passengers suffered moderate injuries, according to the Highway Patrol.
The report didn't specify who was thrown from the vehicle, but it did say that neither Garrett nor Sanazjia Kelly was wearing a seat belt.
Garrett was reported to be in good condition at the hospital Monday, but a spokeswoman said she had no information on the conditions of the three passengers.
