Mount Pleasant, SC : Moped rider in fatal collison was 62-year-old Mount Pleasant woman died on Tuesday morning, January 6, 2015

Tuesday morning at approximately 9:45 a.m. an officer responded to a collision that had just occurred on the Isle of Palms Connector at Rifle Range Road.
Authorities have identified the victim in Tuesday's moped vs. car collision as 62-year-old Alicia Gray. Gray was the driver of the moped.

According to police the moped was heading south on Rifle Range and a passenger car was heading north. Both vehicles turned onto the Isle of Palms Connector heading towards the Isle of Palms. At some point the two vehicles collided and the driver of the moped was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina where they later died from blunt force trauma.

The Traffic Bureau is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision and no charges have been filed at this time.
