Athens, GA : Athens woman chases car after wreck on Saturday, January 14th 2017

A Chateau Terrace woman was injured Saturday afternoon when her car was struck from behind by another car while she was stopped for a red traffic light on Atlanta Highway at Huntington Road, Athens-Clarke County police said.

The woman chased after the other car, a 2009 Ford Taurus, following it to Cleveland Road, where she was able to get a tag number prior to losing sight of the vehicle, police said.

When police met the woman at her Atlanta Highway workplace, she reportedly was crying as the result of pain in her neck and shoulders. A National EMS ambulance crew transported her to Piedmont Athens Regional hospital.

Police said they drove the entire length of Cleveland Road, and looked through Knights Bridge Mobile Home Park, in an unsuccessful search for the suspect’s car.

The phone number associated with the registered owner of the car was out of date, according to police.
