A Georgetown man faces charges after police say he was driving drunk Oct. 28 and crashed into an ambulance.
The crash happened at 9:30 a.m. when, 26, was driving erratically in Seaford. After he side swiped a Blades ambulance, Lopez fled eastbound on Middleford Road, said Master Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.
Police followed with their lights activated as the car continued to drive erratically across two lanes of traffic, Fournier said.
After Lopez finally stopped, Fournier said, he gave police a fake name – Miguel Chavez.
Lopez was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a property collision, driving without a valid license, failure to provide information at a collision scene, expired tags, drinking while driving and several other traffic related offenses.
