A Currituck man died Monday night when the car he was driving ran off Tulls Creek Road and struck a culvert.

Ronald Young, 35, of Currituck, died at the scene. He was driving a Ford passenger car about 9 p.m. when it drifted across the center lane and into a ditch before striking a driveway culvert not far from where Tulls Creek Road intersects with Panther Landing Road, said 1st Sgt. Tim Crumpler of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Neither speed nor alcohol were factors, he said.
