Charlotte, NC : Car crash left one man dead and another seriously injured on early Sunday morning September 7th 2014

An early morning car crash left one man dead and another seriously injured Sunday. The fatal accident happened on Independence Blvd. around 2:41 a.m. Police say Felipe Ogilvie drove his Cadillac Escalade onto the off-ramp from Independence Blvd. to 6th Street traveling the wrong way. Several witnesses told police they had to swerve out of the way to avoid being struck by Ogilvie's vehicle. Police say Ogilvie's SUV hit a BMW head-on. The driver of the BMW, Bronsun Burris, was taken to Carolinas Medical Center main for serious injuries. The passenger in the BMW, Donald Webb Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Ogilvie was also taken to Carolinas Medical Center. He was charged with DWI at the hospital and later charged with felony death by motor vehicle and felony serious injury by motor vehicle.
