Muscle Shoals, AL : Colbert man injured after his car ran into a pond early Tuesday morning, April 19, 2016

A Colbert County man is being evaluated at Helen Keller Hospital after his car ran into a pond just east of Muscle Shoals early this morning, officials said.

Authorities said the man, 59, of Leighton, ran off Marthaler Lane into a pond. The accident happened just after 6 a.m. just south of Second Street.

He had to be pulled out of his submerging car.

Hospital officials said the man, who was conscious and talking at the scene, was in the facility’s emergency department being evaluated.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Quad-Cities State Troopers Post is investigating the accident.
