Avondale, AZ : Man, woman killed in 3-vehicle crash on MC 85 near Avondale Boulevard on Sunday, Nov 8, 2015
Maricopa County sheriff's deputies have arrested a man suspected of driving impaired and causing a crash that killed two people in Avondale.
Sheriff's Office spokesman Joaquin Enriquez says 23-year-old Cesar Aguilar Villanueva will be booked on two counts each of manslaughter and endangerment.
Investigators say Villanueva was driving at an excessive speed around 5 a.m. Sunday on MC 85 near Avondale Boulevard.
His Toyota Tundra rear-ended a Honda, which then collided with a truck.
Enriquez says 21-year-old Jesus Torrez and 19-year-old Guadalupe Gastelum-Suarez, who were riding in the Honda, died at the scene. The truck's driver was uninjured.
Deputies say speed and impairment were factors.
Enriquez says Villanueva could face second-degree murder charges once his driving speed is confirmed.
It was not known if Villanueva had an attorney.
