A 43-year-old Jackson woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday in Ingham County's Meridian Township.

Ruby Smith, 43, was killed and five other people were injured in the crash at approximately 12:04 p.m. April 10, on Meridian Road south of Chimney Oaks Drive, according to Meridian Township Assistant Police Chief Ken Plaga.

Smith was in a northbound sedan also occupied by her husband and two children, who were not related to her, Plaga said. The other vehicle, a small SUV with two occupants, was traveling southbound, he said.

All injured were transported to Lansing's Sparrow Hospital, Plaga said.

Police continue to investigate the cause of this crash.
