Fort Wayne, IN : One injured in off-road vehicle crash on Thursday, August 31, 2017

A Butler man was injured Thursday morning after losing control of his off-road vehicle in loose gravel, conservation officers said today.

Jacob F. Smith, 70, was driving west on DeKalb County Road 38, just west of County Road 39, when he lost control, went south across the road and rolled the vehicle down an embankment, throwing him off of it, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources said in a statement.

Smith had injuries to his head and arms and was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, the statement said.
