SUMTER COUNTY, SC : Deputy involved in Sumter County crash that killed pedestrian was on duty troopers say on Tuesday, 14th May 2024

The deputy involved in a crash that killed a pedestrian was on duty when the crash happened, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP).

The crash happened near the intersection of U.S. 521 and Beckwood Road on May 10.

Troopers said the deputy was traveling north on U.S. 521 in a 2015 Dodge Charger when they hit the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
