Two people were killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle wreck on I-65 north near the Long Hollow Pike exit early Sunday morning.

Goodlettsville police said a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with three occupants left the roadway on I-65 to the right and a side mirror clipped a sign about 1:20 a.m.

The vehicle then went across the roadway and the front of the truck struck the inside wall of the bridge over East Cedar Street, spun and the rear of the truck struck the same wall.

The truck came to rest in the roadway and was struck by a Saturn driven by Samuel T. Richardson, 28, of Greenbrier.

Police said Bonnie A. Knowles, 23, of Springfield, and Jason D. Ramsey, 36, of Cottontown, who were in the truck, died in the wreck. Another person in the truck, Heather R. Gooch, 26, of Portland, was intensive care at TriStar Skyline Medical Center.

Police did not say who was the driver of the truck.

Richardson was admitted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center because of his injuries.

Police said alcohol appeared to be involved in the accident.
