One person received minor injuries after a two-vehicle wreck in Morganton on Tuesday evening.
Around 6:30 p.m., a Chevrolet car driven by Jill Simpson, 57, of Morganton was traveling toward downtown Morganton on Carbon City Road in front of Ingles Supermarket and had pulled into the left turning lane when a Honda Civic was pulling out from the parking lot and struck the vehicle, said Public Safety Officer T. Vue with Morganton Department of Public Safety.
Gabrielle Upchurch, 35, of Morganton was the driver of the Honda Civic and was charged with unsafe movement violation, police said.
A 13-year-old, who was a passenger in the Chevy, complained of injuries and checked out by Burke EMS on scene, but was not transported to the hospital, police said.
The injuries may have been caused by airbags deploying in the vehicle, Vue said.
Agencies involved were MDPS and Burke County EMS.
