Wilmington officials say a firefighter is among three people hurt when a stolen car hit a fire truck during a police chase.
Fire Chief Anthony Goode says the crash occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday at the downtown intersection of West 11th and Washington streets.
He says a firefighter, the car's driver and a passenger were taken to area hospitals.
Goode says Wilmington police, county police and state police were all involved at some point in the chase.
He says the car hit the back end of a ladder truck, causing moderate damage.
Goode says the collision triggered a fire in the car's engine compartment, but firefighters used extinguishers to douse the flames.
