Jackson, MS : Fatal single vehicle crash in Madison County on Tuesday, March 7th 2017

A driver was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Madison County Tuesday.

The incident happened on Mississippi 16 at Sweet Wright Road around 12:30 p.m., according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol. The victim was Vernon Smith, 70.

Smith lost control of the pickup truck he was driving and struck a tree. He was pronounce dead at the scene, MHP said.
