Crawley,WV : Man in critical condition from US 119 accident on May, Saturday 5th 2018
Logan County Sheriff Sonya Porter said two separate motor vehicle accidents were reported on U.S. 119 Saturday evening, one of which left a man in critical condition.
According to a release, Deputy Johnson was en route to a single car rollover in the southbound lane at Crawley Dip. When Johnson arrived, he also found a separate two-car motor vehicle accident, which left one man in critical condition.
The two-car crash occurred close to Moore Branch Road. According to the release, a gray Honda was traveling westbound and crossed the center line, striking a red Chevrolet Silverado head-on.
The Honda was driven by Austin Collins, 24 from Henlawson. The Chevrolet was driven by Matthew Lester, 31 from Lorado. The drivers were the only occupants, according to the release.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital for treatment. According to Porter, Collins is in "very critical condition." Lester suffered minor injuries.
According to the release, Collins was reportedly in possession of 2.5 Oxymorphone 40 mg tablets and a large amount of cash.
Collins also reportedly did not have insurance or proper registration on the vehicle, and has a suspended driver's license.
Porter said the incident is still under investigation with criminal charges expected.
