A woman was struck and killed on Route 24 north in Fall River early Friday morning.
Massachusetts State Police said a Ford F-250 driven by a 44-year-old Fall River man struck a woman at about 5:15 a.m. at mile marker 8.
The woman died on scene. Her name was not released.
Police are investigating why the woman was on the highway.
