Brockton, MA : No arrests after crash, manhunt in West Bridgewater on Saturday, February 17th 2017

A high-speed chase across West Bridgewater turned into a man-hunt through Brockton Saturday evening, but ultimately led to a dead end for police.

No arrests were made following an hours long manhunt through White Pines Golf Course and the Skyview Village over-55 housing community near the West Bridgewater-Brockton town line Saturday.

West Bridgewater and Brockton Police Departments, assisted by State Police and multiple k-9 units, searched for about three hours for two suspects that had fled the scene of a car crash that occurred around 6:30 p.m. near the merge of West Elm and Copeland streets.

The two suspects, driving a black Infiniti at more than 100 mph, were flagged for a traffic stop on Spring Street just minutes before the collision.

"The vehicle pulled into a driveway to stop for the officer," West Bridgewater Police Chief Victor Flaherty said. "As soon as the officer got out of the car, he backed up and took off about a half mile before the crash."
