Castaic, CA : Motorcyclist injured in a single-vehicle crash in Castaic on Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2016

A motorcyclist was injured and taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash in Castaic, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

The crash happened about 4:10 p.m. Sunday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5, just south of Lake Hughes Road, Fire Department Supervisor Michael Pittman said.

“This was for a motorcyclist down,” he said. “The rider went by ambulance to the hospital.”

Officers with the California Highway Patrol reported the crash resulted in a small fuel spill on the freeway.

“A small amount of fuel was reported to be on the roadway,” Pittman said. “Responding firefighters were told (by CHP) to take caution.”

The identity and age of the patient was not disclosed.
