The Greenville County Coroner identified an Upstate woman as the victim of a fatal collision on Friday night.
According to troopers, the crash occurred on Mckittrick Bridge Road near South Moore Road around 9:25 p.m. approximately six miles South of the City of Fountain Inn.
Troopers report the driver was traveling North on Mckittrick Bridge Road when the car veered left and in an effort to get back on track, the driver over corrected and ran off the right side of the road and struck a culvert,
overturning the vehicle.
Canebrake Fire Department and Greenville County EMS responded to the scene.
Lou A. Koepke, 43 of Fountain Inn, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision, but was entrapped and succumbed to her injuries at the scene, reports said. Her cause of death was multi-body trauma, according to the coroner.
The incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner's Office.
