Bend, OR : One dead in motor home crash north of Redmond on Wednesday, 19th October 2016
A man died Wednesday night after his motor home went off the road north of Redmond.
Oregon State Police troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 97 around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
A preliminary investigation revealed Samuel L. Burke, 68, of Lincoln City was driving a 36-foot motor home southbound on Highway 97 when it crossed the northbound lanes of travel and went off the east side of the highway, according to an Oregon State Police news release. The motor home left the roadway, traveled more than 500 feet and crashed through several fences and trees before coming to a stop.
The driver and passenger, Kathleen H. Burke, 58, of Lincoln City, were taken to St. Charles Redmond, where the driver died of his injuries.
