Pryor, OK : Man, 21, dies after being ejected from vehicle during crash in Mayes County on Thursday evening, August 4, 2016

A 21-year-old Pryor man died after being ejected from his vehicle in a Mayes County crash Thursday evening, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Matthew Pilmaier was driving east on 530 Road about two miles east of Pryor around 6 p.m. when his 2001 Honda CR-V went off the left side of the roadway and struck a fence, according to an OHP report.

Pilmaier was ejected about three feet from the SUV, which came to a rest next to a tree, the report says.
Pilmaier, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The report cites speeding as the cause of the crash.
