Utica, NY : One man killed in Higby Road accident Saturday on Saturday, February 17th 2017

The Town of Frankfort Police are investigating a head-on collision on Higby Road that killed a Chadwicks man Saturday evening.

Stephen Browne, 59, was killed in the accident, police said.

The preliminary investigation shows that Browne's vehicle crossed into the path of a vehicle operated by Jordan Smith, 26, of Ilion, police said.

Smith sustained minor injuries, was transported to the hospital and later released, police said.

Higby Road was closed to all traffic in this area for about 5 hours as the crash scene was reconstructed, police said.

The NYSP Accident Reconstruction Investigators were asked to assist in the investigation.

The investigation is still on-going.
