Bridgeport, CT : Lane reopens on Route 8 after accident on April, Tuesday 4th 2017
A northbound, two-vehicle accident on Route 8 in Shelton has been cleared.
The accident, reported at 8:07 a.m., closed the left lane between Exits 11 and 12 for about 20 minutes.
The accident caused a northbound backup stretching more than three miles to the Merritt Parkway in Trumbull.
Unlike Tuesday, it’s one of the few accidents reported during a quiet AM commute.
On I-95, traffic is slow because of the usual congestion from Bridgeport to Darien.
The Merritt Parkway also has slow, heavy traffic from Trumbull to Norwalk.
Earlier Wednesday morning, a disabled tractor-trailer truck on the Merritt Parkway has closed the northbound right lane in Stratford for a short time Wednesday morning.
The truck -that’s not supposed to be on the parkway in the first place - has closed the lane between Exits Exits 52 and 53 shortly after 7 a.m.
The truck was moved a short time later.
