LANESBOROUGH, MA : A motorcyclist was hospitalized after his bike collided on Monday, 21st May 2018

A motorcyclist was hospitalized late Monday afternoon after his bike collided with a car on Route 7, just south of the US-7/MA-8 Connector Road.

Lanesborough police were called to the scene around 4 p.m. where Brian Foisy, 42, of Cheshire had been headed northbound on Route 7 when he crashed his motorcycle into a southbound SUV making a left-hand turn into a gas station. Police say Foisy had gone around a car that had stopped in front of him in the northbound lane, possibly to let the southbound vehicle make the turn. The driver of the turning SUV, 70-year-old Richard Daub from North Adams wasn't hurt, according to police.

However, Foisy was taken to Berkshire Medical Center with unknown injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
