Car crashes into Portland store injured 1 person

Officials say a car that crashed through the front window of a 7-Eleven store in northeast Portland temporarily pinned a customer, who suffered minor injuries.

Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson says the driver accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brakes Wednesday afternoon as she pulled into a parking spot. He says 47-year-old Alake Patterson was cited for driving without insurance and careless driving.

Police say the 25-year-old male customer was taken to a hospital for treatment.
