1 killed in Taylorsville Road crash in louisville kentucky

A police spokeswoman said a yellow truck swerved, crossed over the center line for an unknown reason and smashed into a white Lincoln going in the opposite direction.Police said the driver of the Lincoln, an elderly woman, was taken to University Hospital, where she later died.

The driver of the truck and a passenger in the car were taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Homeowners said it's frightening to have an accident happen so close to home.

"The first thing that we did when we came back home was to check out the yard and go over to the neighbor's yard. They had like, spray-painted spots on the street," said resident Jane Miles.
The spots mark where the truck crashed into the Lincoln.

Police said they didn’t find any skid marks, and the impact was deadly."I just feel really bad, knowing that somebody had passed away there, especially on Valentine's Day," said Miles.Miles said the crash had her questioning her family's safety, especially since it happened just yards from where her daughter plays every day.

"There kind of becomes like, an invisible barrier between you and the street, especially having a little one," said Miles. "But when that gets, you know, penetrated and cars come over into yards, it does make you think again that it is pretty dangerous, and people do drive way too fast frequently on this road."
