A Baton Rouge man died Monday night in a crash on Interstate 49 in Rapides Parish that also injured a Monroe man, according to Louisiana State Police.

Boris Dexter Boyd, 51, of Baton Rouge, was driving a 2004 Saturn Ion southbound, just north of the Avoyelles-Rapides parish line, around 6:50 p.m. Boyd was "traveling very slow, switching from the left lane to the right lane," reads the release.

Both men were wearing seat belts, but Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene. Tran suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Rapides Regional Trauma Center, reads the release.

Toxicology tests on both drivers are pending, and an investigation continues. It's the 47th fatal crash and 53rd fatality in Troop E in 2016.
