Newport Lake, AR : ASP report fatal crash at Newport Lake on Monday, 6th April, 2020

The body of a Newport man was found in a vehicle in Newport Lake on Monday.

According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary, a person passing by found a 2000 Nissan Xterra in the lake with the body of Bobby Pierce, 44, of Newport, in the driver’s seat.The report states that the vehicle was traveling west on Malcolm Avenue, and that the crash happened at 1:10 a.m. on Monday.

Weather conditions were clear and road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
