A 90-year-old man was seriously injured in a two-car crash at an intersection in the township Saturday afternoon, police said.

William Foster Sr, of Barnegat, was driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber east on Route 72 when the vehicle turned left toward Neptune Drive in front of a 2015 Nissan Altima, police said in a statement.

The Nissan driver, Gerald Fournier, 70, of South Carolina, was traveling west when the two cars crashed around 3:35 p.m., police said.

Foster suffered serious injuries and was flown to Atlantic City Trauma Center, where he was listed in critical condition, according to police.

Fournier was being treated at Southern Ocean Medical Center for "moderate" injuries, police said. A passenger in his car, who was not identified, suffered a serious wrist fracture and was also hospitalized.

Police said no charges have been filed and the crash was investigation.
