Shelburne, N.H : 65-year-old Shelburne woman dies after being hit by car in Shelburne Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2016

A pedestrian died after being struck by a car in Shelburne Saturday afternoon, according to New Hampshire State Police.

State police said Doreen Kukene, 65, of Shelburne, was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Impala in front of 126 North Road around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Officials said Ann St. Onge, 36, of Shelburne, was backing the Chevrolet out of the driveway at 126 North Road when she struck Kukene as she was walking along the roadway.

Kukene suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, according to police.

Police said she was treated at the hospital but later died of her injuries.

Police said drugs and alcohol impairment do not appear to be factors in this crash, but that the crash still remains under investigation.
