Topeka, KS : 2 people killed in truck-semi crash in Ford County in southwest Kansas on February, Wednesday 14th 2018
The driver of a pickup truck and driver of a semi-trailer were killed Wednesday morning in a crash in Ford County, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.
The collision occurred at 8:26 a.m. at K-94 and US-54 highways, just south of the town of Kingsdown.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol’s crash log, a 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling south on 125 Road —also listed as K-94 highway — and failed to yield to traffic on US-54 highway.
The patrol said the Chevrolet pickup truck struck a 2012 Peterbilt semi that was eastbound on US-54 highway.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Phil S. Schilling, 77, of Dodge City, was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol said Schilling wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
The driver of the semi, Tracy A. Price, 46, of Protection, was taken to Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City, where he was pronounced dead. The patrol said Price was wearing a seat belt.
Both drivers were alone in their vehicles.
