Hermitage,PA : Man dies following motorcycle accident on June, Saturday 10th 2017

A one vehicle accident has killed a Hermitage man.

Randall L. Pauley, 66, of Hermitage died Saturday from injuries sustained in an accident on Friday.

According to Hermitage Police Chief Eric Jewell, Pauley was traveling westbound on Superior Street in the Patagonia neighborhood of Hermitage when he lost control of the motorcycle he was driving.

The accident occurred at 10:01 p.m. on Friday as Pauley was approaching East Street. Jewell said Pauley lost control of the motorcycle and struck a guardrail.

Pauley was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown where he died at 8:43 p.m. on Saturday.

Pauley's passenger, Julie Layne, 48, was also transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital with severe trauma wounds. Jewell said Layne is expected to survive.

The accident remains under investigation, but Jewell said in a press release that speed and alcohol "wee likely factors in the crash."
