Hueytown, AL : Man, 73, killed in Hueytown head-on collision in Hueytown on Wednesday afternoon, October 22, 2014

Police say one person was killed and another suffered serious injuries in a head-on collision in Hueytown on Wednesday afternoon. The victim was a 73-year-old Robert Shirley of Hueytown, according to authorities. There is no word yet on the condition of the other driver. Hueytown Police Chief Chuck Hagler says a Toyota Highlander and a Chevy Silverado crashed on 15th Street Road about a quarter of a mile from Hueytown High School around 1 p.m. One person was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
