Goshen, CA : Tipton man killed and woman injured in a collision off Highway 99 in the Tulare County town on Saturday afternoon, February 20, 2016

A Tipton man was killed and a woman from the town suffered major injuries Saturday afternoon in a collision off Highway 99 in the Tulare County town, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The dead man was identified as Martin Lara Jr., 25.

The CHP reported that Ross Raposas, 67, of Las Vegas, Nev., was southbound on Highway 99 and exiting at Avenue 152 at a speed too fast to control his 2000 Chevrolet. He drove across a median and collided with a 2004 Honda driven by Andrea Behena, 26, of Tipton, who was entering Highway 99 from the Highway 152 onramp. Both vehicles overturned.

Behena’s car ended up on the driver’s side and Raposas’ landed on its roof in the Lawrence Tractor Co. yard.

Behena sustained major injuries and two additional passengers, a 7-year-old girl and a 1-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries, as did Raposas.
