Saint Paul, MN : Police ID driver, pedestrian in fatal Cloquet crash on Sunday, October, 22nd 2017
Authorities have released the names of a driver and pedestrian involved in a fatal crash Sunday in Cloquet.
Lavonna Prevost, 66, of Cloquet, was killed when she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 20th Street and Washington Avenue just after 9 a.m., the Cloquet Police Department reported Monday.
The driver, 79-year-old Marietta Lain-Erickson, of Cloquet, and a passenger were not injured, authorities said.
Police said Prevost was apparently crossing Washington Avenue in the crosswalk when she was struck by Lain-Erickson’s westbound vehicle.
Authorities said they obtained a blood sample from the driver, with results still pending. The Minnesota State Patrol is also assisting with crash reconstruction in an effort to determine the cause.
