Blue Springs,MO : Man strikes deer, then car in fatal crash on April, Monday 16th 2018

A Lee’s Summit man died Monday from injuries suffered in a Sunday evening crash in which he struck a deer and then another car head-on.

Alec Rush, 20, was pronounced dead early Monday morning at Research Hospital, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The crash happened at 8:22 p.m. Sunday on Missouri 291, just north of Kidwell Road near Lake Winnebago in Cass County.

Rush was driving south on M-291 when his 2014 Ford Fusion struck a deer, crossed over the centerline and hit a 2016 Fusion in the northbound lane. The second driver, also a man from Lee’s Summit, was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Rush was a 2016 graduate of Summit Christian Academy.
