A 19-year-old woman died after she was thrown from a car being driven by a drunken driver who slammed into a barrier on a Brooklyn highway Sunday morning, police said.
Wiktoria Filc, of Staten Island, was riding in the passenger seat when driver Joseph Auteri, 19, lost control of his 2005 Acura and crashed into the guard rail as he tried to take the 65th St. exit ramp off the Belt Parkway in Bay Ridge just before 6:30 a.m., authorities said.
The Acura flipped and launched Filc, police said.
Emergency responders rushed her to Lutheran Medical Center, but she could not be saved.
Auteri, of Staten Island, was charged with vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, reckless endangerment and vehicular assault. Three rear-seat passengers suffered minor injuries in the crash.
