Omaha, NE : One person died and three others were injured in a fatal crash at Sorensen Parkway and Wenninghoff Road On Friday, June 24th, 2016
Omaha police are investigating a fatal crash that happened late Friday night.
It happened near Sorensen Parkway and Wenninghoff Road around 11 p.m.
Omaha police said one person died and three others were injured. Two of those injured were seriously hurt.
Authorities are investigating if the accident is connected to a hit-and-run that occurred moments before the crash just east of the scene, near 72nd Street and Sorensen Parkway.
Deputies say a westbound Chevy Malibu was speeding on Sorensen Parkway with its headlights out when it hit another westbound car from behind. Three people were inside the vehicle that was hit, including a child. Paramedics pronounced a
woman dead at the scene. The other adult and the child were taken to Nebraska Medicine with serious injuries.
Saturday, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office identified one victim as Janis Brown, 16.
