Fairfax, VT : Jericho man severely injured in motorcycle crash on Route 104 in Fairfax Sunday morning, May 3, 2015
Three motorcyclists were hospitalized -- one with serious injuries -- after a messy accident in Fairfax Sunday morning.
Police say the driver of a car, 66 year-old Joan Nye of Milton, crossed the center line on Route 104, hitting a northbound motorcycle's trailer. She then side-wiped a second bike, and nearly hit a third -- that swerved and crashed to get out of the way. Officials say the first victim, a 42 year-old Jericho man, had to have his leg amputated. Nye's injuries and those of the other riders' were non-life threatening. Nye was arrested and charged with careless and negligent operation with serious injuries resulting. She's due in court later next month.
